| Joinville, Brazil. In the empty hall there is – the sky on the ground. Long skirts rest covering that night. The performance The sky on the ground by Letícia Cardoso happens in a certain time and place, in precise instants. The dress with the 3 tips functions when it’s being used. It transits in the presence of the bodies that try to solve the difficulties imposed by the confection of the cloths, that separates and unites at the same time. The three skirts thus create uncertainties; the movements don’t function in isolation, but make part of an echo. Every gesture reverbeates in the movement of the other; and the other. Under the skirts traces mark the movement of the March sky. The color of the dress moves like paint in contraposition with the black drawing on the floor. A celestial drawing, fallen. This way, the passage of the dress from the chartography of the day activates a place where the transitory and impermanence appear in space, disappear in time. |
